The entire faculty and staff is reading Malcolm Gladwell's book David and Goliath this summer. We hope to use this book to reflect on a number of questions posed by the author as we work to define and strengthen our school identity. When is a disadvantage an advantage? Is it better to be a big fish in a small pond? How can challenges motivate us? If you are interested in joining us in reading, we will likely host a Book Club for parents this fall to discuss the most pertinent and relevant points made in the book.
The Parent Association moves in to their new space. The classrooms are getting a face lift with paint on the walls and new ceiling tiles by Eddie and Eddie Jr. Our young helpers shred, clean the campus and rest in between.
The library is undergoing a makeover: shelves are being moved and repurposed in the Art Room, and all else is being being cleared out and rearranged to maximize the space. Who knew we had so many great books? Did you notice that we moved Fruit-a-Freeze to the new Daycare/Parent Association room? Alumni are invited to help us with projects August 4-22, to volunteer contact our office at [email protected]. Also families can help during our Family Work Party on Saturday, August 23. More photos to come.
The campus has already undergone many changes, which I hope will make it more functional and inviting. I am looking forward to meeting all of you, if I haven't already. Enjoy the remainder of your summer and stay tuned for more updates.
